Mixing Harley and Indian... Smit tells us why in the new issue

The two big boys of American motorcycle manufacturing from the mid-20th century, Harley-Davidson and Indian, have each always had passionate and partisan support. And never the twain (twin?) shall meet...

But these days, some bike builders are a bit less – what – loyal? blinkered? and are happy to mix and match certain elements of both makers to create a motorcycle that offers a 'best of both worlds' riding experience.

Smit, from Braidwood in Australia, is one such open-minded owner: and he created the Harley U on the cover of the new issue 91 as a result of his enlightened thinking. Which bits did he pick from which manufacturer? Check out the feature to find out.
