Best of British

I've ridden motorcycles in various places around the world, from downtown New York to the Blue Mountains of Australia, but some of the most impressive vistas I've enjoyed from the seat of whatever Harley I've been riding at the time have been those in North Yorkshire. And my friend Pete Stansfield knows them all.
Every summer he arranges a ride-out for friends and is kind enough to invite me. This time, I joined a group of mostly British bike-riders (and three other H-Ds) as we wended our merry way up hill and down dale led by Pete on his world-famous pre-unit Triumph, Old Blu.
Absolutely stunning scenery was only surpassed by (Pete's wife) Alison's superb home-baked cakes on our return. (How she always has such great grub instantly ready after a day in the saddle is a mystery.)
Sheep on the road, Earl Grey tea in fancy cups, medieval churches, lovely old Triumphs in front of and behind me, ancient farm tracks, tiny bit of rain, a wasp stinging my backside... it couldn't have been a more British experience.
Thanks Pete... me and the ol' Panhead had a great time.
