New VAT rules for EU customers

New rules from July 1 mean that EU countries will apply VAT to all goods they receive from non-EU nations (even of low value), which now includes us as we are in the UK.

So what will this mean for you, as one of our EU customers? Individual magazines are marked 'printed paper' and delivered as documents (as defined by our shipper, DHL), hopefully you will not be charged any VAT. But we cannot guarantee this. Larger packages include customs declarations of the value of the contents.

So please be aware, if your country's customs rules demand it, you may be charged extra to receive packages from us (as you might do from, for example, the USA). The only silver lining to this cloud is that the VAT rate applied to magazines, journals and newspapers is generally much lower rate than normal.
