They're coming back, as I knew they would

If you've seen any of my Harleys from the past, or read any of my ramblings on the old (wow, really old now!) GK blog, you'll know I like whitewall tyres.
And though I have been quite content not to see them on any new chopper (or stocker) builds in recent years, I now have to claim my place as top trend-spotter by officially stating that they are making a comeback.
Seeing this newly-assembled '47 FL on Gak's (Hawg Holic, Tokyo) Instagram feed on the weekend made me realise that this is the third or fourth bike I've seen in recent weeks sporting a whitewall on the back. It's as if the god of chopper good taste has issued a decree that whiteys may now adorn cool motorcycles once again, after a period of banishment to the daggy doldrums.
And let's face it, if Gak is using them, the hipsters (do they still exist?) won't be far behind. They will soon be, yes, chopular!
You (probably didn't) read it here first.
